The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst has enjoyed a bustling start to 2025, with our team of veteran tour guides having already welcomed a remarkable number of guests from across the country and beyond.

Each tour has offered unique insights into the academy's rich history, impressive architecture, and enduring military traditions.

Public Tours

Our popular public tours have provided an opportunity for visitors to explore the iconic grounds where British Army officers have trained since 1812. Each tour offers guests a chance to see key landmarks such as the magnificent Old College, the Royal Memorial Chapel, and the impressive Indian Army Memorial Room. Enthusiastic guides have shared captivating stories about the academy's past, from its role in shaping world-renowned leaders to its ceremonial traditions still upheld today.

Private Tours

Private tours are available subject to the Academy diary. Recently we hosted a very memorable tour for the son and daughter of a former Officer Cadet. Who visited the academy to understand the place that formed their father. Sadly he was unable to join them due to ill health, however they shared the poignant moment with a facetime call whilst in the Indian Army Memorial Room.

Special Interest Groups

We have also welcomed many special interest groups such as Wellington Invincibles, Livery Companies, WRAC and U3A groups from Fleet and Wokingham.  We also welcomed a group of Blue Badge Guides who thoroughly enjoyed being on the other side.   These larger groups tend to book well in advance to ensure they can get a Historical Tour into their busy events programme.  For groups over 20 we offer a 10% discount on the ticket price.  We do not offer lunch here at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst but there are many places to eat in the surrounding area.

Military Groups

The Sandhurst Trust also supports the Academy by providing tours for military groups and VIP’s. In early March we welcomed a group of Canadian Officer Cadet’s from the Saint Jean military Academy. The tours provide a look into the history of this world famous military academy.

Tours take place throughout the year and are led by experienced tour guides, all retired military, who share their extensive knowledge on the history of the Academy and its buildings. Typical tours last 2.5 hours, giving visitors plenty of time to take in the history of the buildings and rooms.
