Sandhurst Medal
The Sandhurst Medal was introduced in 2016 to recognise the extraordinary achievement of those International Cadets who successfully complete the Regular Commissioning Course at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS). The recipients of the Sandhurst Medal join an esteemed list of over 5,400 International Alumni from over 129 different countries.
In 2022, the Sandhurst Medal was extended to include those International Cadets, successfully completing the Commissioning Course Short (CCS).
Each year over 120 medals are awarded by the Commandant to International Cadets on each course.
The Sandhurst Medal is fully approved by the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence and is designed to be worn on the uniform of the international recipient to show that they have successfully completed the Regular Commissioning Course or Commissioning Course Short course at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, United Kingdom.
Individual countries have their own medal policies, which impact how, and when medals can be worn.
Alumni who commissioned before 2016 are able to purchase the Sandhurst Medal from the Sandhurst Trust. The medal set comes complete with medal ribbon for both sizes. Currently the medal is £260 inc VAT (£216.67 ex VAT) plus postage which will be calculated depending on location.
