Sovereign's Parades |
It’s been an exceptionally busy week for the Sandhurst Trust team, with everyone pitching in to keep things running smoothly.
The events team has had invaluable support from Admin, Alumni Relations, Marketing, our director, and even a few volunteer tour guides, making it a true all-hands-on-deck effort
Commandants Parade
On the Wednesday 7th August , the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst held the Commandant’s Parade for CC 233. This event is a full-dress rehearsal for the main event on Friday and is open to the public, unlike Friday’s Parade
The Sandhurst Trust proudly hosted 228 guests from a variety of corporate business, special interest clubs and education facilities plus two groups of alumnus.
The All England Lawn Tennis Club, renowned globally for its Wimbledon Championships, brought a touch of sporting excellence to the proceedings. Joining them was the Company of Coachmakers, an ancient livery company with a storied history dating back to the 17th century.
From the corporate sector, we had representatives from GRS Roadstone, a leading supplier in the construction industry and a Corporate Sponsor of the Sandhurst Trust.
The arts were represented by the Maidenhead Arts Society and Local groups Tilly Widgets, a vibrant Women's Institute Group and The Surrey Health Probus Club, an organization for retired professional and business people, also attended.
Educational and youth organizations also featured prominently amongst our guests. St Edward's Combined Cadet Force (CCF) and One School Global exemplify the next generation of leaders and thinkers. Their presence at the Commandant’s Parade is a testament to the Academy's commitment to inspiring and mentoring future leaders.
From the charitable sector, ABF The Soldiers’ Charity hosted a number of supporters with a fabulous lunch held afterwards in one of the prestige rooms of Old College.
We hope that all guests enjoyed the parade.
Sovereign’s Parade
Friday 9th August saw the Sovereign’s Parade for CC 233 which marks the end of an Officer Cadet’s time here at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. After 44 weeks of intensive training and a number of intense exercises, including Dynamic Victory (see below) Officer Cadets commissioned into the British Army and many overseas armies.
The Sandhurst Trust Team were out and about engaging with guests to share information about the charity and showcase a variety of merchandise from our online shop. The top sellers of the day included our exclusive "Mug Full of History" and the book "They Also Served". Director and author Vaughan Kent Payne was on hand to sign books for guests.
Despite the temperatures soaring to 25 degrees, we even managed to sell several of our popular "RMAS Bobble Hats" and a number of Christmas Baubles—quite an impressive feat!
Did You Know The Sandhurst Trust Has Organized the Commissioning Ball Since 2018?
Whilst the rest of the Academy enjoyed a celebratory lunch, the Sandhurst Trust were busy behind the scenes getting ready for the Commissioning Ball. It isn’t all glitter and glam—it's late nights, endless details, last-minute changes, stress and a lot of furniture moving!
However, seeing it come together and the Officer Cadets able to celebrate in style with their guests makes it all worth it.
The Academy is now on recess, and the Sandhurst Trust team is taking some well-deserved time off to recharge for the upcoming term. While the office will remain open, it will be operating with a skeleton staff during this period.
