Adventurous Training (AT) is an important factor in the development of Officer Cadets at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.
Designed to take them out of their comfort zone in arduous terrain and situations, the Cadets attend
an AT course at the end of their Junior term. At the end of their Intermediate term, they plan and
conduct AT exercises throughout the UK - walking, climbing, caving, mountain biking, canoeing and
sailing as well as gliding and parachuting.
The Sandhurst Trust provides every Officer Cadet, who is a member, with a minimum grant of
£50 towards the cost of their expedition . The Sandshurst Trust disburses grants to over 550 Cadets each year, and also supports the staff at Sandhurst conducting AT in the recess periods.
"The Exped utilised the funding from the Sandhurst Trust to fund the purchase
of teaching aids and logbooks".
