Family and friends gathered in December 2020 for the Commissioning Parade of CC 201.  The Officer Cadets on this course had started their 44 week training at Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in January 2020 not realising what was just around the corner.

Old College Sunday was cancelled and then the vast majority of their training happened under the shadow of Covid. They didn't take part in April or August's Parade as Juniors or Inters. After the cancellation of April's Sovereign's Parade. August and December's parades were run with limited guests and no Commissioning lunch or ball.

On the morning of 11th December 2020, a member of the Sovereign's Platoon tested positive for Covid and the whole group of Officer Cadets missed out on taking part in the Sovereign's Parade. However, some swift organisation, the Sovereign's Platoon were Commissioned in a separate Parade after the guests from the main Parade had departed. The Sovereign's Representative, General Sir Patrick Sanders KCB, CBE, DSO, ADC Gen, stayed and presented the Sword of Honour.  As the photos and video below show, this really was a unique sight to see, a real moment in history.
