Once again the Future Leaders Group (FLG) came to Sandhurst where they held the last two modules of their personal development programme for aspiring board-level executives. Over the course of two days, they reflected on their leadership development journey with their coach @Elizabeth Beroud and worked through a crisis management case study led by @Richard Westley OBE MC. They also enjoyed a visit of the grounds and chapel followed by dinner in the Peninsular Room hosted by @Seumas Kerr CBE. As ever participants came from a mix of public and private sector backgrounds, an aspect often cited as a key USP of the course as it makes for a rich peer-learning experience. This year the organisations represented were Bechtel, L3 Harris, Border Force, Serco, British Expertise International, UCL Consultants, Home Office, Rail Accident Investigation Branch, Eversholt Rail, and the Water Research Centre.
Elizabeth Beroud said:
An important part of the FLG programme is helping participants to understand their unique leadership strengths and how they can put them at the service of their teams and organisations. It’s a privilege to conclude the journey with them in Sandhurst whose motto is Serve to Lead, a concept at the very heart of FLG. And, of course, there could be no better place to hold our Crisis Management module! A highlight for me was undoubtedly the superb candle-lit dinner served in the impressive Peninsular Room where participants were joined by their sponsors for a well-deserved celebration and an opportunity to share their take-outs from the course. Thank you @Sandhurst Trust for your fantastic welcome! We look forward to returning in 2026 with our new cohort.
In the words of Guy Barker, Maritime Services Director, Serco :
“Our two days in Sandhurst offered an amazing experience. It was such a great setting for discussing our leadership development, learning about crisis management, and celebrating with our sponsors. The catering was excellent and the Gurkha curry was the best meal of the whole course !”
